Sofia 2024 Call for Papers

The Johannine Literature research unit will host three sessions at the 2024 conference:

  1. For the open session we invite proposals on topics relevant to the unit’s focus on the Gospel and Letters of John.
  2. For the second session we welcome proposals that focus on issues and methods in relation to the conceptual matrix from which the Gospel of John emerged, including John’s engagement with Greek, Roman and/or Jewish texts and contexts.
  3. We will also hold a joint session with ‘The Bible, Ecology and Sustainability’ unit to discuss the subject of ‘Poverty, Hunger, Ecology, and Sustainability in the Bible’. The session will include some invited papers and we also welcome proposals on this topic in relation to the Johannine writings.
