The Identity Life Cycle and its Application within Biblical Studies

Programme

The workshop is dedicated to the introduction of a newly developed, interdisciplinary-based model by Efi Lebel for the lifecycle of an identity group and demonstrating, through case studies, its usefulness as a tool for contextualizing biblical texts within the originating, growth, maturity, and or decline stages of a religious group. It is applicable to forms of emergent Judaisms, Samaritanism, and Christianity as well as any self-identified group, religious or secular.
